Who’s with me for a nice smooth skin? I’m pretty sure there’s a lot of us out there. I’ve been into skincare for a while now, have tried and tested a lot of stuff and one thing I learnt for sure is the fact that efficiently cleaning your skin is the foundation to a beautiful flawless looking face. I said ‘efficiently’, not thoroughly cleaning your skin, as it’s not all about that stripping feeling after you wash your face – that’s actually a sign you’ve overdone it.
I’ve looked into my cupboard, searching for the key skin heroes that I frequently use for cleaning and took them for a photoshoot, as they deserve all the attention they can get. Especially during colder season, our skin tends to be more dehydrated, so it’s important to clean our face, but avoid dehydration with a gentle cleanser. There are different textures you should consider: watery, gel-like, oil and foam. I’ve selected 4 cleansers and I wrote this article hoping you’ll find some skin heroes too.
- Bioderma Huile de douche – as the name suggests, this is actually a shower oil, but it can successfully be used for the entire body, even by babies. Super soothing, recommended for dry sensitive skin, it works like a charm! I will probably always have this one in my house – got a 1 liter bottle and I have less than half of it left. Totally going to repurchase it!
- CosRX – Low PH Good Morning Cleanser – gel like texture, smells slightly like tea tree (I don’t mind it, actually), cleans perfectly. It’s probably mt most used ones, and I ordered another one as this is almost going to the Empties box. Not stripping at all, doesn’t break out the skin, can be used successfully in the morning and at night. It’s a bit more difficult to buy in stores, but you may find it online quite easily. And it’s definitely worth the wait.
- The Body Shop – Chamomile Silky Cleansing Oil – this one is a proper oil cleanser, but when emulsified, gets a great consistency and melts off any make-up. Well, I’m not a waterproof mascara user, but if you’re a fan, you might love this one even more. Great packaging – easy to use pump, relatively easy to buy, good price for the quantity. Do not be afraid to try this one, even if you have oily or combination skin.
- Garnier – Micellar water – there’s not much to say about this, rather than: quick, easy, stress free cleansing. No red eyes, no issues for sensitive skin, incredibly cheap and I will re-purchase this over and over again.
